This morning, when I tried to wake my son up,
he got mad and told me, "I wasn't finished with
my dream!!" and went back to sleep. When, and
only when, the dream is complete can he get out
of bed.
He's done this before.
The weird thing is: later, he can tell you the dream
- including the part where you rudely interrupted
it - from start to finish.
Is he making it all up, or can he really bookmark
his dreams?

I'm guessing he constructs the part after your interuption. I've done that myself. Never had a dream continue on me after I woke up. In either cae, this kid is highly creative. Get him writing as soon as possible.
I have tried to fall back asleep in order to recapture my dream...usually it just turns into a nightmare. :)
Actually you can if you don't fully wake up before trying to get back into it. It's kind of like using the TiVo. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean your dream will be exactly the same as it would have been had you not been interrupted...
