Master L Goes To College

Dropped Master L off this morning at "Kids College".

I just wonder if Master L really qualifies as a "reserved" student.
Something tells me he's a bit more rambunctious!
And I doubt it took him the full 15 minutes to "get loose". . .

Last year, on the last day of the class, the instructors gave each
student a goldfish. Master L named his "Aurora". The fish is
still with us, so I hope they don't send another (bowl
overcrowding, you know). Then again - I guess that would be
better than a raccoon or a badger or something!

Friday the 13th

Hillary Clinton was speaking at the college down the street
from our house, so went went down there to listen. This was
one of the best moments:

Bill had been standing, stage right, behind the woman doing
the introductions. While she was speaking, he walked across
the stage and took his seat on the stool behind her, without
her noticing he had moved.

When she started to introduce him, she gestured to her right
but Bill wasn't there anymore. Then, she suddenly noticed he
was right behind her. She then jumped in shock and said,
"...sneaky!"

I was sure the moment would end up on The Daily Show.
Did it??

Later, I played an "intimate" duo gig (i.e., not loud) that was
actually attended by a whole bunch of people we know (a rarity) :

I guess the only bad luck of the day was the reference in "Born
Under A Bad Sign" . . . unless you count the fact that my
partner-in-musical-crime makes me play some Springsteen
tunes at this particular place. LOL!!

Fourth in the Rain

Fourth of July. This was our vantage point for the fireworks over
the Charles River. It rained off and on all day, but Master L
declared it was his "best Fourth of July ever!", so what's a little
bit (ok, a LOT) of rain??

I'm still an idiot with the digital camera, so you don't get any
fireworks pics. They weren't good. And we left the trusty old
Pentax K-1000 at home . . .

We had a picnic on the roof and the radio feed of the concert at
the Hatch Shell. Having done the Fourth at the Shell itself, I'd say
this was much better (less claustrophobic!!!). What can I say?
I'm a "people person".

Har har!

7/7/07

Question:

If all these musicians who are always doing big "save the
world" concerts (the same people who've been at it
for over 20 years) are so great at bringing about positive
change......why have all of the things for which they've
"raised awareness" only gotten worse?!??

As my mother would have said, "I'm just sayin', y'know?"

Who knows? Maybe Bono is the CAUSE of all of the
problems - he always seems to be in the area!! :)
