This local gas station went out of business in the spring of 2001, but the sign remains. Has your income gone up 150 - 200% in the last five years? Someone's has......
Directionally, you have the income change correct, but the magnitude's way off. I actually got laid off in 2001, but started work with my current employer weeks before my severance ran out, so it almost doesn't count.
As a matter of fact, you're right. I have not seen such a generous increase and frankly, don't expect to any time soon despite the fact that we are already hearing about what an expensive summer this will be for anyone who wants to go anywhere.
i'm having your "i...hate...cars" problem at the moment, and $3 a gallon for gas doesn't sound nearly as bad as the prices the repair shop is giving me (for the car to pass state inspection). grrrrrrr......

Mine has gone the opposite way, actually. Damn.
Got a new song up, L.
